TAMPA, Fla. − Could the Tampa Bay Buccaneers be getting healthy at the right time?

Rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka, who left last Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers with a hamstring injury, returned to practice Saturday and could be in play for Monday night’s game in Detroit.

Bucs coach Todd Bowles said Egbuka was limited and will be a game-time decision against the Lions.

“It’s possible,” Bowles said. “I mean, it’s not definite. Again, this is going to go all the way up until game time. He wants to play, but it all depends on how he feels and how he looks.”

Egbuka, who turned 23 four days ago, played more than half the offensive snaps against San Francisco. He is the team’s leading receiver with 27 receptions for 469 yards and five touchdowns.

The Bucs also are expected to get back receiver Mike Evans, who practiced for the second time on Saturday. Evans missed three games with a hamstring strain.

Linebacker Lavonte David (knee/rib) returned to practice Saturday as well. Also expected to play are cornerbacks Zyon McCollum (thumb) and Benjamin Morrison (hamstring).

The Bucs will be without running backs Bucky Irving (shoulder/foot) and Josh Williams (concussion), receiver Chris Godwin (fibula) and guard Luke Haggard (shoulder).

Bowles said McCollum won’t be limited in any way by his injury: “He can do everything.”

Guard Mike Jordan, who started the first two games at left guard before suffering a knee injury, practiced again Saturday and could play Monday.

“He’s making some progress,” Bowles said, “so he’ll be in play for Monday as well.”
