The son of Audrey Hepburn speaks well of stars who’ve been compared to his mother. But Sean Hepburn Ferrer thinks Lily Collins’ portrayal of his mom on film could be something special.

Collins was picked to play Hepburn in an upcoming movie about the making of 1961’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

“I’ve known Natalie Portman since she was 14 and she’s a fantastic person,” he said. “I’m close to Rooney Mara, who’s also a delightful girl. But Lily is something special.”

Ferrer said he’s puzzled about how a movie about another movie might work. However, conversations he’s had with the 37-year-old British actor makes him want to see more.

“We’ve had several talks about it, and I’ve told her that I think she should do something,” Ferrer said.

The project Collins’ is working on is based on the 2010 book “Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman.”

Ferrer’s younger half-brother, Luca Dotti, is also wondering what Collins’ might do with the role.

“I’m a curious bystander and I would love to see it,” he told People.

Hepburn died from cancer in 1993 at 63 years old.

She was portrayed onscreen at different ages by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Emmy Rossum and Sarah Hyland in the 2000 made-for-TV movie “The Audrey Hepburn Story.”

Furrer, who works as a film producer, posted an Instagram photo of Collins posing with a book he wrote about his mom on April 7. The book’s title is “Ultimate Audrey.”
