Pistons even record at 1-1 with 115-111 win against Rockets

HOUSTON — The Detroit Pistons secured a thrilling 115-111 victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday night at the Toyota Center.
Cade Cunningham led the Pistons (1-1) with 21 points, nine assists and five rebounds and Ausar Thompson added 19 points and three assists. After a subpar season opener against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, Duncan Robinson bounced back in a big way with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, 4-of-8 shooting on 3-pointers.
Paul Reed stepped up significantly in the absence of Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart, contributing 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocks to the team's effort. Ron Holland II also played a vital role for Detroit off the bench, scoring 11 points, grabbing five rebounds, and dishing out two assists before fouling out with 7:34 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Kevin Durant led the Rockets (0-2) with 37 points. Ausar's twin brother, Amen, added 10 points for Houston.
