Why does God value some by making things easy for them while others have to struggle?

on

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: It’s hard to compete in the workplace because some people just naturally have an attractive way about them. I don’t understand, though, why God values others by making things easy for them while others have to struggle for every little thing we get. – P.V.

A: Many people think that a person’s work determines his or her value. Those who achieve great success outwardly are often thought of as successful and they are always introduced to others in connection with their life’s work.

God, however, does not judge us by success according to the world. He loves each person the same because our value does not come from what we do, what we have, the clothes we wear, the house in which we live, or the type of car we drive. These are manmade things and ideas – not God’s.

Our value comes from the fact that God created us and Christ died for us. God gave His one and only Son, Jesus. He valued us so highly, even when we did not value Him. Since God thought so much of us, we should show Him how much we value Him by putting Him first in all that we do – our family life, our work, and especially in our spiritual life, then leave the results to Him.

The actual value of something is that which is placed on it by the owner or the buyer. God has shown the value He has placed on us by redeeming us. Nothing will change our lives more than to take our minds off self and put our thoughts and cares into living a life that will point others to Him. This is living a blessed life.
